Who We Are

West Africa Youth Assembly (WAYA) is a well-recognized Regional Youth Institution by the ECOWAS Parliament. WAYA was established on December 21, 2020, in Monrovia, Liberia based on a resolution by ECOWAS Heads which was adopted in June 2007 to introduce the transformational ECOWAS Vision 2020, “from ECOWAS of States to ECOWAS of Peoples”, which automatically made ECOWAS a people-oriented Institution parallel to, United Nations (UN) African Union (AU), European Union (EU) and Mano River Union (MRU). WAYA has an Executive leadership structure.
 
 Currently, West Africa Youth Assembly (WAYA)  is actively in thirteen (13) Countries in West Africa namely: Liberia, Nigeria, Ghana, Gambia, Guinea Bissau, Sierra Leone, Cape Verde, Senegal, Togo, Benin, Cote D’Ivoire, Guinea and Niger
